Atanas Malik Nyabola
Clinical Officer Cardiologist, Echocardiographer, Educator & Researcher
Atanas sees every Nabade patient personally, at Algadhir Hospital in Nakuru and Pearl Hospital in Nyahururu. He performs the echocardiograms himself — including myocardial strain imaging — reads the ambulatory blood pressure and Holter recordings, and manages hypertension, heart failure, and rhythm problems through to follow-up.
His doctoral research in Molecular Medicine focuses on detecting heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) earlier, by combining molecular biomarkers with cardiac imaging. Outside the clinic he teaches other clinicians through CardioUpdate and reviews applications to the Nabade Compassionate Fund.
